secondary school for nursing

Our school is a secondary vocational school for nursing, situated in the North of Slovenia in the Koroška region, very near the Austrian border. The area is fairly distant from the capital, Ljubljana, and is among the less developed parts of Slovenia. The students are between 15-19 years old, they are educated to become nurses and nursing assistants and some are also of different nationalities and religions. Due to that fact and due to the nature of the profession itself, it is important that they are open-minded and able to recognize and break down the stereotypes that exist among people. The students have a lot of practice work in the local hospital and nursing homes, where they encounter various people, of different age groups, different nationalities, religions, background and with different, specific needs.
