We are a military boarding school and that is why our students have a different kind of life from other students of the same age. They are far from their families and have to adapt to both the military environment and boarding school conditions. All these, during one of the most difficult periods of life, (adolescence) sometimes lead to a demotivated attitude towards learning. The great majority of them have poor families, including divorced and single parents with a rural background with no opportunities to travel outside the local area and with little or no experience in travelling abroad. This means that their knowledge of other customs, cultures and traditions needs a lot of improvement. Living in a boarding school with rules and uniforms makes them develop a reluctant attitude and see the world divided into two sides (they and the “civilians”) which is actually the result of a professional stereotypical thinking.
