We are nine schools from all over Europe, with various educational backgrounds (military, veterinary, catholic, nursery, agricultural, private and traditional). Yet, we realized that we deal with the same problem. Our students developed a stereotypical thinking regarding not only their country and future profession but also the countries and professions around them. Because of that we would like to work together  within a Comenius project  in order to help people who are involved break down these stereotypes by getting to know the partners “directly from the source”.

We called our project ‘Pride and Prejudice’ because we want to get rid of prejudices and enhance national and professional pride.  The first year we will concentrate on national stereotypes, while during the second year we will focus on professional ones and we will equally pay attention to both aspects of our theme.
The final product (an optional course –to be taught in school) and the activities included in the project (working in transnational groups, creating the web page, writing emails, designing a project logo, visits, producing documentaries, taking interviews) will give the students an image based on the concrete reality and not on the inherited stereotypes.
